How we use your photo
Effective 15 September 2026 · Last updated 15 September 2026 · weariton.shop and the WearItOn Chrome extension
This page explains what happens when you upload a photo for try-on or avatar features. It forms part of our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. Photo features are optional.
1. Affirmative consent
Before we process a personal photo for generation on the website, we ask you to tick a consent box on weariton.shop/consent. By ticking it you confirm that:
- WearItOn may use that photo to generate a studio avatar (a full-body still informed by your face photo and the body measurements you enter).
- WearItOn may use that photo (or the avatar) to render virtual try-ons — AI images that show clothing on you.
- You are uploading an image of yourself, or of an adult who has given you permission, and not an image of a minor (under 18).
- You understand outputs are AI previews and may be inaccurate.
We store a local consent version/timestamp on your device so we know you opted in. Refusing consent does not block browsing non-photo features.
2. What we do with the photo
- Compress it (often to roughly 400–1024px on the long edge) before generation.
- Keep a copy on your device (browser / Chrome storage) until you replace or delete it.
- If signed in, sync try-on / studio avatar images to your private account storage so the extension and website can share the same body.
- When you request a try-on or avatar, send a compressed copy to our backends and AI image processors (including models such as Google Gemini) solely to return the image you asked for.
- For Pro side views / 3D, send try-on stills to the processors needed for those features.
3. What we do not do
- Sell your photo or use it to train public advertising audiences.
- Use your photo for unrelated marketing profiles or data-broker sales.
- Claim ownership of your original upload.
- Require photos for basic colour notes that can be derived from the product page alone.
4. Biometric note
Your photo may depict your face and body. We process it to generate previews you request, not to enrol you in a government ID system. On-device face/pose helpers may run locally in the browser. Where laws treat certain imagery as sensitive biometric data, we rely on your explicit consent for that processing.
5. Retention
Local copies remain until you clear them or uninstall / clear site data. Cloud copies remain until you delete them or we erase your account on request. Generation servers are not used as a lasting public gallery; short operational logs may exist for security and abuse prevention.
6. Withdrawing consent and deletion
Stop using photo features any time. Delete the photo in the UI, clear site data, or uninstall the extension. Email support@weariton.shop to delete account-stored photos. Withdrawal does not erase copies you already downloaded or shared yourself, or backups already rotating out of short-lived logs.
